Sirmaur liquor auction fetches over Rs 82 crore
The annual liquor auction in Sirmaur district concluded successfully today at the SFDA Hall, Nahan, with nine liquor units fetching a total of Rs 82.47 crore, surpassing the reserve price of Rs 79.62 crore. The auction, conducted under the chairmanship of Executive Deputy Commissioner and Presiding Officer LR Verma, commenced at 11 am and concluded by 3 pm.
The liquor units auctioned were from Nahan, Kala Amb, Dadahu, Rajgarh, Naina Tikker, Khajurna-Bharal, Badri Nagar-Shillai, Khodari Majri, and Paonta Sahib. According to LR Verma, four units — Nahan, Naina Tikker, Badri Nagar-Shillai, and Paonta Sahib — were awarded to LRS Company. The Dadahu, Rajgarh, Khajurna-Bharal, and Khodari Majri units were secured by M/s KVS Company, while the Kala Amb unit went to Khem Chand.
This year’s auction price exceeded the previous year’s earnings by Rs 4.06 crore, reflecting strong competition among bidders. The proceedings were closely monitored by Vivek Kumar, Additional Commissioner of State Taxes and Excise (South Zone), alongside observer Devkant Khachi and Himanshu R Panwar, Deputy Commissioner of State Taxes and Excise, Sirmaur.
