Sirmaur police seize heroin in drug bust, 24-yr-old held
The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Sirmaur police has made a significant drug bust with the seizure of 12.5 gm of heroin near the stone crusher in Kunja Mataraliyo. Acting on confidential intelligence, the SIU swiftly carried out an operation, apprehending 24-year-old Mansoor Ali from Vikasnagar, Uttarakhand, at the scene.
A case has been registered against Ali under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at Puruwala Police Station. This operation is part of the district police’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region. Sirmaur Superintendent of Police commended the SIU for its quick action and said the department was committed to tackling the drug menace.
He said initial investigations suggest Ali may have been involved in supplying drugs in the area. The police are now focusing on his network in a bid to identify and apprehend other individuals linked to the illegal trade. He added further arrests and actions are expected as the investigation continues.
The police have also called on the public to report any suspicious activities related to drugs, stressing that community involvement is crucial to the success of their anti-narcotics campaign.
