Sirmaur police tops in crime tracking systems ranking
The Sirmaur Police have secured the first position in the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) ranking, an assessment done by the State Crime Records Bureau, Shimla. The achievement reflects the district police's dedication to enhance efficiency through digital policing systems.
The Central Government had launched the CCTNS in 2009 under the National e-Governance Plan. The objective of the project was to create a comprehensive and integrated system for effective policing in the country. By digitising police records and enabling information sharing across states and law enforcement agencies, the system aims at improving the overall effectiveness and responsiveness of forces.
As part of the evaluation, police stations in Himachal Pradesh were grouped into three categories. Among these, five police stations from Sirmaur district earned top five ranks in their various categories -- Paonta Sahib, Shri Renuka Ji, Majra, Shillai and the Mahila police station, Nahan.
SP, Sirmaur, Nishchint Singh Negi congratulated the dedicated CCTNS nodal officers from these stations for their exemplary contributions. He commended Vinakshi and Ajay of Paonta Sahib, Amit and Kiran of Shri Renuka Ji, Anil and Ruchi of Majra, Nitish and Kiran of Shillai and Geeta and Sunita of Mahila police station, Nahan.
“This achievement is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our teams in leveraging technology for better policing and public service,” said Negi.
