Sirmaur youth dies by suicide in Solan

A 21-year-old Sirmaur youth allegedly hanged himself to death near the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) here today.

A white colour scarf was found wrapped around the neck of the youth who was identified as Pankaj Kumar, a resident of Kamrau tehsil in Sirmaur.

The police inspected the body and found no injury marks on it. It was learnt that he had come to Solan in search of job and was working at a motor repair shop at Deoghat for the past 10-15 days. He was living in a rented room near the ITI.

Pankaj Kumar was found hanging with a rod in the verandah outside his room by a passer-by who informed his brother and other

tenants.

They took him to the regional hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.

While no suicide note was recovered, his family members also ruled out foul play. The viscera is being sent to the State Forensic Science Laboratory, Junga, for examination.

Inquest proceedings were under way in the case, Solan SP Gaurav Singh said.
