SJVN Chairman inspects Arun-3 hydro project in Nepal

SJVN Chairman Bhupender Gupta today visited the 900 MW Arun-3 Hydro Electric Project in Nepal to assess the progress of this strategically important cross-border hydropower venture. He was accompanied Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel) of the company.

During the visit, the Chairman and the Director (Personnel) conducted a comprehensive review of the project activities across major sites. At Phaksinda, they inspected the dam site, where Gupta urged the project team to uphold the highest standards of safety, quality and timely execution. He emphasised the relevance of Arun-3 in strengthening regional clean energy cooperation and meeting future power requirements.

They later visited the powerhouse and other key components of the project at Pukhuwa. Project authorities presented detailed updates on recent achievements, challenges posed by the difficult Himalayan terrain and weather and the mitigation measures being implemented to ensure steady progress.

Gupta commended the dedication and coordinated efforts of the workforce operating in demanding conditions and called for sustained momentum in completing the remaining project milestones. Sharma also lauded the relentless efforts of the project team working in challenging geographical and climatic conditions.

The 900 MW Arun-III Hydro Electric Project is being developed by SJVN in Sankhuwasabha district of Nepal through its fully owned subsidiary SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company Pvt. Ltd.
