SJVN profit rises to Rs 970 crore in 2024-25

The SJVN has earned a revenue of Rs 2,897.25 crore from its operations in 2024-25, which is Rs 363.66 crore more from Rs 2,533.59 crore in 2023-24. SJVN Chairman and Managing Director Bhupender Gupta, while addressing shareholders during its 37th Annual General Meeting (AGM) here, said that the standalone Profit After Tax (PAT) also increased to Rs 970.18 crore up by Rs 61.78 crore from Rs 908.40 crore in previous year.

The board of the company has recommended final dividend of Rs 0.31 per share, taking the total dividend for 2024-25 to Rs 1.46 per share, including interim dividend. “The company has maintained one of the healthiest receivables ratios in the sector, achieving best-ever trade receivables level of 15 days of revenue reflecting strong financial discipline,” said Gupta.

Gupta said 2024-25 was a defining year of operational excellence. “The SJVN achieved its highest-ever generation of 10,647 million units (MU) from all operational projects. The 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydroelectric Power Station delivered record outputs, including highest-ever quarterly generation of 3,450.98 MU, highest single-day generation of 39.572 MU and record monthly generation of 1,222.170 MU,” he added.

Similarly, the 412 MW Rampur Hydroelectric Power Station achieved its highest-ever monthly generation of 292.331 MU and clocked record quarterly generation of 955.616 MU, along with highest single-day generation of 11.023 MU. The 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydroelectric Power Station surpassed its design energy and generated 316.40 MU in its first operational year. He further said that since April 2024, the 691 MW capacity has been added, taking the total installed capacity portfolio to 2,967.52 MW from 12 projects. The first unit of the 660 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project was successfully synchronised with the national grid on August 21, and the Prime Minister inaugurated it on August 22.

In 2024-25, the SJVN spent Rs 31.24 crore on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with initiatives in verticals such as health, education, livelihood creation and community infrastructure development etc. For 2025-26, the SJVN has an memorandum of understanding (MoU) target of 13,090 MU generation and Rs 12,000 crore capital expenditure. During the first quarter of the fiscal year, the company has reported energy generation of 3,681.60 MU, recording a revenue of Rs 822.4 crore and a PAT of Rs 258.51 crore.
