Shimla: The Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from the Mizoram Government for the allotment of Darzo Lui Pumped Storage Project to the company. With an installed capacity of 2400-MW, the project has been proposed across the Darzo Nullah, a tributary of the Tuipui. The estimated cost of the project, which is the first endeavour of the company in Mizoram, is Rs 13,947.50 crore, including IDC and financing costs. As per the LoI, an agreement shall be signed within three months between the SJVN and the Mizoram Govt .TNS

Nominations open for award

Mandi: The Centre has introduced the Subhash Chandra Bose Disaster Management Award to honour people for their contributions to disaster management. ADM Dr Madan Kumar said the nominations for the 2025 award were open. He said the award aimed to recognise people’s efforts in disaster prevention, mitigation, preparedness, rescue, response, relief, rehabilitation, etc. The ADM stated that individuals and institutions involved in disaster management at the national level were eligible for the award. nominations can be filed on official portal (https://awards.gov.in), which would be accessible until August 31, 2024. He said nominations can be made by any citizen or institution.
