Slope near tara hall littered with trash
THE entire slope of a hill near Loreto Convent Tara Hall school in Shimla is littered with garbage. Despite the facility of door-to-door garbage collection, some people continue to throw garbage down the slopes across the city. The Municipal Corporation of Shimla has neither cleaned this area nor been able to stop residents and tourists from dumping waste in the open. The authorities must take stringent measures to curb the practice and also get this area cleaned. —Ankita, Shimla
Overflowing water tanks
Wastage of water as it overflows from tanks is a serious concern in the state capital, especially as the city frequently faces shortage of water. The authorities concerned must take action against the people whose water tanks are found overflowing, for this leads to shortage and inconvenience to other residents. —Mamta, Shimla
Vehicles parked on Chhota Shimla-Kasumpti road
People often park their vehicles on the Chhota Shimla-Kasumpti road while they are shopping in the local market. This causes frequent traffic jams and also inconveniences pedestrians as there is no space on the roadside for them to walk safely.
