The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Una, has installed Internet of Things (IoT)-based Smart Laundry Solutions for its in-house students and faculty members.
The IoT systems use devices that can connect and exchange data with other devices and systems over the Internet. These devices are equipped with sensors, software and processing capabilities. The IoT laundry system allows users to reserve machines, track washing cycles and receive notifications via a dedicated mobile application.
IIIT Director Prof Manish Gaur said this smart and time-saving system enhances convenience and aligns with the Institute’s commitment to integrate sustainable and innovative solutions across its campus. He said IIIT Una is the first institution in the region to implement the IoT-based Smart Laundry Solutions by installing 10 such systems in its hostels, thereby completely digitalising the laundry system and offering students and staff a seamless, efficient, and modern experience.
