Shimla: The Shimla Municipal Corporation will seek funds from the state government to construct roads in various wards of the town. For this, the corporation will soon be sending a proposal to the state government. The new roads are proposed to be constructed in Nabha, Lower Khalini, Vijaynagar, Rudlu Bhatta, Summerhill, Majiath, Bhatta Kuffar and Upper Dhalli. According to the Municipal Corporation, these road projects are mostly those that have construction cost of over Rs 30 lakh. The Mayor said that the roads would be constructed as soon as the SMC gets funds from the government. TNS
Agri varsities ink pact for 5 yrs
Solan: Two leading state agriculture universities of Himachal Pradesh signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday. Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, and Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (CSKHPKV), Palampur, have joined hands to foster academic and research cooperation. The MoU, set to be effective for five years, aims to facilitate student exchanges for postgraduate programmes, joint research initiatives, conferences, seminars, workshops and student exchange programmes in areas of mutual interest.
