Snow in Shimla's Kufri, Narkanda; rain in lower reaches of Himachal Pradesh

People of higher reaches of the state woke up to snow this morning. Tourist spots like Kufri and Narkanda are also witnessing snow, which has made the roads slippery. The administration has issued an advisory to not ply vehicles till the roads are cleared. Shimla, meanwhile, saw light drizzle.

The lower parts of the state are receiving rainfall. Light to moderate spells of rain are very likely to continue over many parts of Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Mandi and over some parts of Kangra, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur. A few spells of light rainfall, with one or two moderate spells, are also very likely in some parts of Kullu and Chamba.

The weather department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain and snow in four districts for today and predicted light to moderate rain and snow at most places till Friday morning.
