Himachal is “very likely” to receive rainfall and snowfall on January 11-12. Besides, cold day conditions, too, will prevail in the state from January 11 onwards.

As per the weather department, light to moderate spells of snowfall are “very likely” over some parts of the mid and high hills from the evening of January 11 till early morning of January 13.

Major tourist destinations like Shimla are also likely to get some a few spells of light to moderate rainfall/snowfall on January 11-12.

In some areas falling in plains and lower hills, a light to moderate spell of rainfall is likely during this period.

In the areas where snowfall is expected, the department has issued a warning for skidding of vehicles, low visibility, and the disruption of basic facilities like power and water during these two days.
