Snowfall in higher reaches of state likely today

The higher reaches of the state will receive fresh snowfall on February 11. As per the State’s Meteorological Department, light snowfall as well as rainfall is expected to occur at isolated areas of the of the higher reaches of Shimla, Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur, Kullu, Mandi, Kangra and Chamba districts on February 11, while weather will remain dry in mid, lower hills and plains for the next one week. Similarly, light snowfall is also expected to occur in the higher hills of the state on February 15 and 16.

Meanwhile, weather was mostly dry across the state during the past 24 hours. Minimum temperature in Shimla was 8.6°C, Dharamsala 5.2°C, Manali and Bhuntar 5.4°C, Sundernagar 6.5°C, Dalhousie 8°C, Bilaspur 6.7°C, Solan 5.2°C, Mandi 7.6°C, Kalpa 0.4°C, Chamba 8.8°C, Nahan 8.5°C, and Keylong — 4°C.

With 28°C maximum temperature, Una was the hottest place in the state while Tabo village in tribal district Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest as it recorded —5.6°C minimum temperature.
