Snowfall, rain witnessed in state, temp falls at several places

Mercury fell by a few notches across the state as snowfall and rainfall continued to occur across the state. As a result, most places of the state witnessed colder temperatures throughout the day.

As per the state’s meteorological department, light snowfall along with rain continued in isolated places of the state during the past 24 hours. Minimum temperatures across the state were between 0°C and 17°C while maximum temperatures were in the range of 16°C to 34°C.

Minimum temperature in Shimla fell by 1.1°C during the past 24 hours as the state’s capital recorded 11.5°C. While the weather was mostly cloudy during the day, the town also witnessed a spell of light rain during the afternoon, bringing the temperature down.

Dharamsala recorded a minimum of 11.8°C, Manali 7.2°C, Solan 12.2°C, Palampur 12°C, Bhuntar 13°C, Kalpa 5.2°C, Kufri 9.8°C and Narkanda 8.1°C.

With 32.9°C maximum temperature, Una was the hottest place in the state while Kukumseri village in tribal district of Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest as it recorded 0.3°C minimum temperature.

The weather is expected to remain dry across the state till October 29. While maximum temperatures will remain normal during the next two to three days, minimum temperatures are very likely to fall by 1°C to 2°C during the next few days across the state.
