Additional Deputy Commissioner Zaffar Iqbal on Saturday submitted the magisterial inquiry report in the June 20 cable car mishap at Timber Trail Resorts near Parwanoo to the state government.

Eleven tourists, including five women, were stranded on the cable car about 150 m above the ground for hours. They were rescued by the staff of the resort, NRDR and police after hours.

The ADC said the committee took note of the technical inputs provided by the mechanical wing of the PWD, version of the stakeholders, findings of the police as well as statements of those associated with the mishap to finalise the report. Records pertaining to its maintenance were also inspected.

He said that it being a magisterial probe, its findings would be disclosed by the state government.

The ADC had constituted a six-member committee on June 22 to speed up the probe.

The inquiry dealt with various aspects, including the technical faults owing to which the shaft had broken.
