Solan school wins Wipro Earthian National award
St Luke’s Senior Secondary School, Solan, has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to sustainability by securing the prestigious Wipro Earthian National Award 2024 for the fourth consecutive year. This remarkable achievement highlights the school’s dedication to environmental education and action.
The Wipro Earthian 2024 programme saw participation from over 1,550 schools across India. Competing teams submitted comprehensive reports addressing sustainability challenges within their campuses and communities. After rigorous evaluation, the jury selected 23 outstanding teams from 15 states, recognising their impactful work in areas such as waste management, water conservation, and biodiversity preservation.
Eco Vigyan Foundation, the programme partner for Wipro Earthian in Himachal Pradesh, played a pivotal role in mentoring and guiding participating schools, furthering efforts to promote environmental awareness and action among students in the state.
The prestigious award ceremony took place on February 21-22, 2025, at Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, and was attended by PS Narayan, Global Head of Sustainability and ESG at Wipro Ltd., Anurag Behar, CEO of Azim Premji Foundation, and the Executive Chairman of Wipro Ltd. St. Luke’s Senior Secondary School’s winning team, accompanied by their guiding teacher, attended the ceremony to celebrate their outstanding accomplishment.
This successive recognition reaffirms St. Luke’s Senior Secondary School’s leadership in sustainability education, inspiring students to become champions in managing environmental challenges they encounter in their everyday lives.
