Speaker elected convener of Commonwealth Parliamentary body
The Himachal Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, has been elected a convener of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Union India Region.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla announced the formation of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India Region-II for one year from September 2024 to August 2025. Pathania has been made the convener for the five states — Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. Om Birla, Chairperson of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India Region (CPA), has divided the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association into nine zones. Pathania has been made the convener of five states.
Pathania said he would try to discharge the responsibility entrusted to him with determination and full ability and contribute his best in strengthening the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India Region- II.
He thanked the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India Region Chairperson Om Birla for entrusting him with this responsibility.
