Chamba, February 8
Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania today laid the foundation stone of the Dobala Danga-Chhamber link road in the Tunnuhatti area of the Bhattiyat Assembly Segment in Chamba district along the Punjab border.
Pathania, while addressing a public meeting at Gadiyara village, said that the Dobala Danga-Chhamber road would be constructed at a cost of Rs 66 lakh. The survey for widening the road up to Bhotan village in the area had been completed and the construction work would commence in the next fiscal year, he added.
The Speaker assured the people of the area that Government High School at Samotar village would be upgraded to the higher secondary level. He said that a bus service on the Tunuhatti-Roni route would be started.
Pathania said that Rs 24 lakh had been allocated for ensuring drinking water supply in the area. He directed the officials concerned to take necessary steps for uninterrupted electricity supply.
Pathania emphasised the timely completion of the Dobala Danga-Chhamber road, which would benefit over 1,000 residents of Johad, Garanedi, Chalela, Chhamber, Charamani, Vasa, Gochhar and Chaunka villages.
