The conference was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who highlighted the significance of Vithalbhai Patel's contributions to India's legislative history.
Participating in the conference, Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania praised Vithalbhai Patel as a great freedom fighter and a pioneer in empowering legislative institutions. “Patel played a crucial role in shaping India's constitutional history and was the first elected chairman of the Central Legislative Assembly,” said Pathania.
The other participants included Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Lieutenant Governor Vijay Saxena, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta, etc.
The conference marked the centenary year of Vithalbhai Patel's tenure as the first elected chairman of the Central Legislative Assembly and the Delhi Assembly's centenary year. The conference aimed to discuss ways to strengthen legislative institutions and promote effective governance.
