Special trains to run for Himachal devotees to kumbh mela

Railways has decided to run six special trains for the devotees from lower areas of Himachal who intend to attend the maha kumbh mela held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Indian Railways has decided to run six special trains from Amb Andaura of Una district to Prayagraj in view of the event.

The first special train for Prayagraj from Amb Andaura railway station of Una district will leave on 17 January 2025.

This train will return from Prayagraj to Amb Andaura railway station on 19 January. Railways is due to announce the dates of other trains soon. The timetable of these trains going to Prayagraj will also be released soon, said a railway official, speaking anonymously.

Many trains as Vande Bharat Express to Delhi, weekly Nanded express between Amb Indora to Indore, Sabarmati Express, Jan Shatabdi between Daulatpur Chowk-Delhi, Himachal Express, Una-Haridwar rail service, passenger rail service to Ambala Cantonment and other rail services run up and down, daily, from Una district. The timings of some of these trains is likely to altered due to the plying of special trains.

The residents of Kangra, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Mandi and Una districts of Himachal Pradesh, people from border areas of Punjab can also take advantage of the kumbh mela rail services. Thousands of devotees from Himachal Pradesh are expected to participate in the maha kumbh to be held in Prayagraj.

The sources here said that the Indian Railways is changing the timetable of many rail services. In this, timing of train number 19411 Sabarmati-Daulatpur Chowk Daily Express connecting Gujarat and Rajasthan to Himachal has also been changed. From January 1. This train will depart from its starting station Sabarmati Junction at 10:05 am for Daulatpur Chowk, the railway officials said.
