Sports Authority of India, CUHP organise grand Pink Marathon
The Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Centre of Excellence, Dharamsala, jointly organised a grand Pink Marathon in Dharamsala, with several women participants showcasing a vibrant celebration of energy, enthusiasm and women’s empowerment.
The fitness rally was flagged off at the SAI stadium gate by Prof Sat Prakash Bansal, Vice Chancellor of CUHP, who motivated participants with inspiring words, reaffirming the university’s commitment to women’s empowerment. The event was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Prof Kailash Chandra Sharma, Former VC of Kurukshetra University and distinguished guests from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi University and Kumaon University.
Representatives from SAI, including Rakesh Jassal (Chief Coach, Table Tennis & Centre Incharge), Dr Vikas Bhatt (Medical Officer), Pankaj (Kabaddi Coach), Naresh Mankotia (Warden) and Anjali (Volleyball Coach) were also present.
The event saw a contingent of 100 female students from CUHP and SAI hostels, cheered on by spectators who turned out in large numbers. The women participants, running with determination, exemplified strength and resilience. The theme for International Women’s Day 2025, “Accelerate Action,” resonated throughout the event, emphasising the urgent need for concrete actions toward gender equality.
