The Faculty of Basic Sciences won the overall championship trophy with 15 medals in a four-day inter-departmental sports competition organised at Shoolini University. The Faculty of Management Sciences came second with seven medals. Badminton (singles, doubles and mixed), basketball, football, table tennis (single and double), chess and carrom board were among the 15 indoor and outdoor games that students participated in. Ankush stood first in the badminton men’s singlest, while Mayank and Aditya came second and third, respectively. The team of Ankush and Rahul won the badminton men’s doubles while Tushar and Mayank were runner-up and Rajiv and Vikrant stood third.

ABVP to plant 1.01 lakh saplings

The ABVP will plant 1.01 lakh saplings in the state on July 15. The drive is part of the ABVP’s larger campaign to plant one crore saplings across the country. The larger drive will be conducted in several phases and the ABVP will also look after the planted sapling as ‘Vriksh Mitr’.

Extend date for filling PG exam forms

The SFI submitted a memorandum to the Controller of Examination, Himachal Pradesh University, demanded extension of the final date for filling forms for PG exams, for improvement in the ERP system and early declaration of pending results of undergraduate and PG courses. The SFI said many students could not fill forms, for which the last date was June 13, due to the faulty ERP system. Hence, the date should be extended.
