This was stated by Prof Rajeshwar Singh Chandel, Vice-Chancellor (VC), Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, while chairing the19th meeting of the Scientific Advisory Committee that was held in Reckong Peo, Kinnaur, today.

On this occasion, Prof Chandel emphasised that promoting organic farming in Kinnaur district required ground-level efforts. He urged everyone to work in this direction to connect people with organic farming.

The meeting focused on reviewing the directions and actions from the 18th meeting of the Scientific Advisory Committee. Detailed discussions were held on upcoming tasks and various points that were presented. The committee also discussed irrigation facilities in various parts of the district. It was stated that the Jal Shakti Department, Kinnaur, had received a detailed project report for water supply and further action in this regard was on. Prof Chandel instructed the officials to treat this matter with urgency and complete the irrigation facilities on a priority basis.
