Sri Sai varsity hosts international conference on AI in pharma, biosciences
Sri Sai University, Palampur organised a two-day international conference titled “AI solutions in pharmaceutical sciences, biosciences and environmental management” on its campus. The prestigious event brought together experts, researchers and students to delve into the latest developments and applications of artificial intelligence (AI) within these critical sectors.
The first day of the conference commenced with registration, followed by an inaugural session marked by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. The event saw the presence of several distinguished guests, including the chief guest, Er SK Punj, Chancellor of Sri Sai University; Er Kanwar Tushar Punj, Vice-Chancellor; Tripta Punj, MD of Sri Sai University, Palampur; and other eminent dignitaries, all of whom were honoured at a special ceremony. These leaders shared their insights and extended congratulations on the successful launch of the conference.Notable speakers included Dr VP Patial, Dean of Academics; Prof (Dr) RPP Singh, Dean of Research & Development; and Prof (Dr) Rakesh Sharma, Dean of Pharmacy, who addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of AI in advancing these domains. Following the inaugural speeches, Dr VP Patial, along with Dr Zahid Ali, Registrar of Sri Sai University, shared their perspectives.
The conference featured a keynote speech by Dr Santosh Verma from Quantum University, Roorkee, and an address by Sh Dinesh Gautaru, drug inspector. Furthermore, the event included technical presentations, with contributions from Dr Bahwinder Singh of C-DAC Mohali and Dr Ved Parkash Sharma, a CMC scientist specialising in drug development from Denmark, who participated remotely.
The event is poised to be a landmark occasion for professionals and academics keen to explore the transformative role of artificial intelligence in these essential scientific fields.
