Startup summit organised at NIT
Adopt a 360-degree approach to make students future entrepreneurs so that they can contribute in the growth and prosperity of the country. This was stated by Ramanand Sharma, director operations of Erricsson company while addressing participants at the National-Level Startup Summit organised at National Institute of Technology (NIT).
The summit was organised under the aegis of Uttishthati foundation under Information Technology Business Incubator scheme. Notably, iTBI-DST scheme aims to provide financial assistance to startups for proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry and commercialisation to enable these startups to graduate to a level where they would be able to raise investments from angel investors or venture capitalists.
Dr Pamita Awasthi coordinator of the summit said that guest lecturers from renowned institutes and incubation centers from across the country addressed the summit. She added that the participants were encouraged to bring innovative ideas to the incubation centres and centres should encourage people towards startups. Dr Rajesh Kumar Sharma co-director of Uttishthati foundation, Dr Rakesh Sharma faculty incharge and Dr Kirti Mahajan assistant faculty incharge also delivered lectures on the subject.
Dr. Pamita Awasthi said that 138 teams were registered for the events including ‘Ideathon and Productathon’ from various institutes of the country. While 24 teams selected pitched their startup ideas in the summit.
