State allocated Rs 11,800 crore in Union Budget for development works: Parmar
The BJP today organised a conference in Dehra to make the people of the constituency aware about the benefits of the Union Budget 2025-26. After the conference, Sullah MLA Vipin Singh Parmar and Jaswan Pragpur MLA Bikram Thakur said that the Budget was historic as it had benefited every section of society.
Parmar said that Congress leaders in the state had been making false claims that the Union Government was not extending financial help to Himachal. “In the 2025-26 Union Budget, an outlay of Rs 11,800 crore has been made for various development projects in the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi considers Himachal his second home and has always been liberal towards it. The Congress government has not been able to utilise the grants given to the state even during the disaster,” he added.
Parmar said that one of the biggest proposals in the 2025-26 Union Budget was giving a health cover to all senior citizens of the country. The Union Budget had proposed to provide free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh to all citizens of the country above the age of 70 years under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. It was for the first time that over 50 crore people would get a health cover of up to Rs 5 lakh, he added.
The former Assembly Speaker said that the prices of various life-saving drugs were slashed in the Budget. He added that the Budget had taken care of the hard working middle class of the country. People earning up to Rs 1 lakh per month would not have to pay income tax and this would benefit about 90 per cent population of the state, he added. The decision would give more purchasing power to the middle class and boost the economy of the country, he claimed.
