State gets 3 silver medals at national kurash event
Himachal Pradesh bagged three silver and two bronze medals in the Senior National Kurash Championship held at Ludhiana recently.
Himachal Pradesh Kurash Association general secretary Virendra Singh Dhaulta said this success is the result of the hard work of the players and the cooperation of the team. This year, the state team has won a total of three gold, 14 silver and as many bronze medals in all national sub-junior to senior competitions, which is the highest in any sport. Apart from this, the school national boys and girls under-19 team is also playing in Raipur which is expected to fetch good results.
A team of 24 players from Himachal Pradesh, including 12 men and 12 women, participated in the competition. Vishal (90 kg, Bilaspur) and Bhaskar (60 kg, Mandi) won silver medals. Meena Kumari (78 kg) of Kullu and Aditya (110 kg) of Chamba also won silver medals. Anuj (55 kg, Bilaspur) won a bronze medal. The head of delegation of the team was Hardev Singh, while Mukul Sharma and Roop Singh guided the players as coaches. At the same time, Ninram played the role of a technical officer.
Association president Kaushal Mungta congratulated all winners.
