Hundreds of hoteliers and travel agents from the state are participating in a three-day Tourism Trade Fair (TTF), being held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, to showcase the beauty of the state and attract more tourists.

The trade fair is set to end on August 9.

Shimla Hoteliers and Tourism Stakeholders Association president Mohinder Seth said TTF was a platform for stakeholders to get an opportunity to interact directly with travel agents of Gujarat.

“Hoteliers have booked stalls to display pictures and features of their property. The literature of the hotel is distributed amongst the travel agents. Travel agents from Gujarat and neighbouring states of Maharashtra and Rajasthan visit this fair and interact with the hoteliers, travel agents and tour operators of the state, who are participating in the fair,” he added.

He said a large number of tourists from Gujarat visit the state from mid-September to February.

“The hoteliers try to get maximum advance bookings for the upcoming tourist seasons. There are Navratri holidays in Gujarat around Diwali. The marriage season in Gujarat is from September to February, during which the couples visit various hill stations for their honeymoons,” he added.

“Being a safe, peaceful and beautiful state from a tourism point of view, Himachal Pradesh remains the first choice of tourists from Gujarat. A large number of tourist groups visit the state and play a significant role in increasing the occupancy of hotels,” he said.
