The state today reported a record 711 new cases of Covid, taking the tally of infected persons to 26,197. At least seven persons succumbed to the deadly infection. The death toll now stands at 378.

While two persons died in Kullu, one person each succumbed to the infection in Kangra, Kullu, Kinnaur, Solan and Bilaspur districts. The highest number of 204 cases was reported in Shimla, Kullu (121), Mandi (114), Hamirpur (61), Kangra (50), Solan (41), Bilaspur (29), Chamba (22), and Kinnaur (12).

21 jail inmates infected

Hamirpur: As many as 61 persons, including 21 inmates of the district jail, tested positive for coronavirus in Hamirpur district on Monday. Dr Archana Soni, Chief Medical Officer, said these persons had come in contact with infected persons.
