The higher and middle hills of the state are set to receive fresh snowfall from January 29 onwards. As per the state’s Meteorological Department, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region from January 29. As a result, snowfall as well as rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated areas of middle and higher hills of the state from January 29 to January 31.

Additionally, the maximum temperature across the state is likely to rise by 2°C to 3°C over the next four to five days.

Meanwhile, weather was mostly dry across the state in the past 24 hours. The minimum temperature in Shimla was 6°C, Dharamsala 5.2°C, Dalhousie 6.6°C, Mandi 3.1°C, Sundernagar 2.6°C, Bhuntar 0.3°C, Kangra 4.5°C, Bilaspur 3.9°C, Hamirpur 3.3°C, Kasauli 8.3°C, Kalpa minus 0.9°C, Paonta Sahib 9°C, Nahan 6.1°C, Narkanda 1.2°C. With 25.8°C maximum temperature, Una was the hottest place in the state while Tabo village in Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest as it recorded minus 11.7°C minimum temperature.
