Himachal to procure organic manure, vermicompost from farmers

Deputy Director of Agriculture, Chamba, Dr Kuldeep Dhiman on Wednesday said the state government had decided to buy organic manure and vermicompost from farmers. Interested farmers willing to sell “organic manure or vermicompost” were requested to submit their details with the Deputy Director’s office.

These details would be provided to service providers selected by the government, who would purchase the organic manure or vermicompost from farmers at a rate of Rs 3 per kg. Dr Dhiman said a committee had been formed at the development block level under the chairmanship of agricultural specialists appointed by the Department of Agriculture to facilitate this purchase.

The committee includes members such as veterinary officers and pharmacists, along with agricultural development officers and agricultural extension officers.
