With a vision to improve the quality of education across the state, including in tribal districts, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had introduced English-medium instruction in government schools from the first grade.

This initiative aimed to ensure that government school students did not feel inferior when compared to those in private schools. Schools were being equipped with modern facilities to improve the standard of teaching, the Cabinet Minister added.
