Steps taken for smooth apple transportation: CM

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today said the state government had made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth transportation and marketing of apple besides arranging labour from Nepal and elsewhere in the state.

The Chief Minister today inaugurated and laid foundation stones of development projects worth about Rs 73 crore in Tikkar area of Jubbal-Kotkhai in Shimla district through video conferencing from here today. He said the government had made arrangements for labour not only from Nepal but also from other districts such as Sirmaur, Mandi and Chamba.

The Chief Minister said development projects worth Rs 150 crore had been dedicated to the people of Jubbal and Nawar area of Jubbal-Kotkhai Vidhan Sabha segment. “Grading and packing centre being set up at Tutupani would facilitate the growers with the facility right at their door step,” he remarked. He said that lift water supply schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission would go a long way in providing tapped drinking water to people of Nawar area.

He said the government also provided immediate assistance of Rs 2.04 crore to the residents of Kashani village of Nawar area which was completely gutted a few months ago.

The Chief Minister directed the officers to ensure time-bound completion of all projects the foundation stones of which were laid by him so that benefits of these could reach people at the earliest.

Chief Whip and local MLA Narender Bragta thanked the CM for dedicating developmental projects worth crores. “Despite coronavirus pandemic, the farmers were able to market their produce without any hindrance the credit for which goes to the Chief Minister,” he said.

Member of Parliament Shimla, Parliamentary Constituency Suresh Kashyap said the state government had ensured unprecedented and equitable development of all areas of the state.
