Minister for Transport, Industries, Labour and Employment Bikram Thakur today laid the foundation stone of a new bus stand building at Bangana subdivisional headquarters.

Agriculture Minister Virender Kanwar accompanied him. A sum of Rs 3.5 crore will be spent on the construction of the bus stand, which will be spread on an area of 15 kanal. Eight landowners, who donated their land for the bus stand, were honoured.

Speaking on the occasion, Bikram Thakur announced the extension of Shimla to Mehre daily bus service to Bangana and the extension of the Una to Shimla bus service from Raipur in Bangana subdivision.

He also announced that a new local bus service would be started to cover some local routes in Bangana and Jaswan Paragpur areas and directed the transport authorities to decide the route.

Bikram Singh later dedicated to the public an additional building block of the Labour Office at Una distric, built at a cost of Rs 59.62 lakh.

Addressing a public gathering here, the Labour Minister deliberated on various welfare schemes for daily wagers and construction workers under the Himachal Pradesh Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
