Stone of community hall at Rakkad village laid by MLA

Dharamsala Assembly constituency MLA Sudhir Sharma on Thursday laid the foundation stone for several development works, including the construction of Nageshwar Community Hall, in Rakkad gram panchayat at a cost of Rs 10 lakh.

Sharma said Rs 5 lakh has been released for the community hall, while the remaining Rs 5 lakh would be provided once the construction work begins.

In addition, a tube well and parking facility worth Rs 9 lakh will also be developed in this village.

The MLA announced that a state-of-the-art Batwal Foundation building will be built in Khaniyara, with an initial instalment of Rs 5 lakh already sanctioned by him.

He also laid the foundation stone of a memorial gate in honour of Amar Shaheed Rifleman Sunil Jang Mehta, saying it would inspire future generations to remember the martyr’s sacrifice.

Meanwhile, the 76th state-level Van Mahotsav, organised by the Forest Department, was celebrated in Rakkad. Sharma planted a sapling at the sliding zone of the gram panchayat.

Local councillor Raj Kumari, Advocate Bhavnesh Chaudhary, BJP workers and forest department officials planted various saplings during the event.
