Student dies by suicide at Mandi medical college

Vijay Udainiya (22), a third-year MBBS student at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Govt. Medical College and Hospital, Nerchowk, allegedly died by suicide in his hostel room on the college campus last evening. He was a native of Jaipur in Rajasthan and the reason behind his taking the extreme step was not yet known. According to the police, the student’s body had been sent for an autopsy and no suicide note was found in the room.

Mandi SP Sakshi Verma said that the case was being investigated and Udainiya’s family had been informed. After the autopsy, the body would be returned to the bereaved family.
