Students detained after altercation turns violent on Oachghat-Sultanpur road

An incident has come to light wherein two youths, students of a university, were involved in a heated altercation that escalated into a firing incident on the Oachghat-Sultanpur road this afternoon.

According to SP Solan Gaurav Singh, the trouble began when a youth from Haryana brandished a pistol during an argument with a fellow student, attempting to intimidate him. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when the other student managed to snatch the pistol and fired several shots in the air before the situation was brought under control by bystanders.

The police swung into action immediately after receiving information about the incident and detained several youths, including the accused. The weapon used in the crime has also been seized and a further probe is underway.

A video of the incident has gone viral, sparking widespread concern in the area.
