Subathu school clinches victory at band competition in Lucknow
A team of 31 students from Pinegrove School, Subathu, representing the state, delivered an outstanding performance at the North Zone Inter-School Band Competition hosted by Samagra Shiksha (Secondary) and St Stephen Inter College, Lucknow, from December 5 to 7.
The event witnessed the participation of schools across seven states and UTs of the North Zone in the girls’ category, and nine states and UTs of North Zone in the boys’ category. Competing in the Boys’ Brass Band category, Pinegrove secured the first position in the North Zone, bringing pride not only to the institution but to the state as well.
The team was trained and guided by bandmaster Parwinder Singh and was led by the school head boy Kartavya Sood. The band showcased exceptional musical precision and coordination.
Their stellar performance also earned them a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
Earlier, the school was declared the state champion in a competition organised by the state government at Kunihar in October.
This achievement has paved the way for Pinegrove’s Brass Band to represent the North Zone at the National Level Inter-School Band Competition, scheduled to be held in New Delhi in January 2025.
