Submit list of vacant, unused buildings in week: Minister

Rajesh Dharmani, Minister of Town and Country Planning and Housing, today directed the officials concerned to submit information of unutilised buildings of various departments within seven days.

He presided over a meeting of the Cabinet sub-committee to review and suggest measures for the optimum use of the vacant buildings.

It was disclosed in the meeting that so far only 21 departments had provided the required information, while around 50 other departments were yet to submit the details.

Direction were issued to all Deputy Commissioners, heads of the departments, boards and the committees constituted under SDMs to supply the necessary information within a week.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
