Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu offered the traditional prayers at the historic Murali Manohar Temple in Sujanpur Tira, near here, today to inaugurate the three-day national-level Holi fair. Thousands of people participated in the festivities, marking the beginning of grand celebrations.

After paying obeisance at the temple, the Chief Minister prayed for the prosperity and happiness of the people of the state. Earlier, he, accompanied by people, participated in the 'pagri' ceremony and led the shobha yatra from the Chaugan Maidan to the Murali Manohar Temple.

Sukhu also inaugurated various exhibitions showcasing the achievements of different government departments and corporations. He was accorded a warm welcome by people on his arrival in Sujanpur town.

The Chief Minister extended greetings to people on the occasion of Holi and said that the festival symbolized unity, harmony and cultural heritage. He added that “the Sujanpur Holi Fair is a testament to the state’s rich traditional, cultural and historical legacy”.

MLAs Capt Ranjit Singh Rana and Suresh Kumar, Chief Minister’s Political Adviser Sunil Sharma, Chairman of KCCB Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Chairman of KCPARB Ram Chander Pathania, APMC Chairman Ajay Sharma, Congress leaders Pushpinder Verma, Subhash Dadhwalia, Deputy Commissioner Amarjeet Singh and SP Bhagat Thakur were present on the occasion.
