Sukhu alleges scam in grants under Awas Yojna

Congress MLA from Nadaun, Sukhwinder Sukhu has alleged a scam in benefits given under CM Awas Yojna in the state. He alleged that the real and deprived persons were not getting benefit of the scheme whereas the influential persons in the rural areas were getting the benefits.
The issue came up in the house in response to a query from BJP MLA from Hamirpur, Narinder Thakur. In response to the query, minister for rural development Varinder Kanwar informed that in Hamirpur district 111 persons have been extended benefits of Prime Minister Awas Yojna and 511 under CM Awas Yojna. The minister also informed that 836 families are yet to get benefit of the schemes in Hamirpur district.
Sukhu alleged that while the undeserving people were getting the benefits the real poor were being left out.
The minister said that if Sukhu had any particular case in his mind, he should inform him and the matter would be probed.
The minister also said that the government was trying to give grant to left out 836 families and their cases were being taken up with the Union government.
