APMC Kangra district chairman Nishu Mongra hailed the initiative as a long-awaited demand of farmers, expressing gratitude to the CM, Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar, and other leaders for their support. Speaking at his office near Gaggal, Mongra highlighted the state government’s grassroots initiatives, which are driving rapid progress.

With the addition of the Draman mandi, Kangra district will now have 15 markets. The main mandi is located in Kangra, with sub-mandis in Palampur, Baijnath, Jaisinghpur, Nagrota Bagwan, Dharamshala, Jwalaji, Guler, Jwali, Jasoor, Pasu, and Draman. Additionally, three grain mandis—Fatehpur, Milwan, and Riali—are operational, helping farmers trade their produce efficiently.

Mongra emphasised that such initiatives are vital for the region’s agricultural growth, ensuring better market access and improved earnings for farmers.
