Sukhu lays stone of bridge, to benefit nearly 10,000 people

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu laid the foundation stone of a bridge to be built on Maseh Khad at a cost of Rs 5.11 crore. This bridge would connect the remote areas of Nadaun Assembly constituency and Jaswan Pragpur Assembly constituency of Kangra district and would benefit people of Una district as well.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said this bridge would be constructed within a period of one year. He said that the road of the villages in the area would also be paved. He said that the government was committed to uniform development of the state. The people of Nauri village met him several times with the demand to build this bridge.

The Chief Minister said this bridge would benefit about 10,000 people of four gram panchayats of Nadaun, two gram panchayats of Una and six panchayats of Kangra district. The people of the area were demanding construction of this bridge since 1970. He said that the construction of this bridge would reduce distance between Nadaun and Bangana by about 7.5 km and the distance between Nadaun-Peer Saluhi by about six km.

Congress leader Surender Mankotia present, also present on the occasion, said that Chief Minister had special affection for the people of Jaswan Pragpur assembly constituency. He has dedicated many schemes for the development of Jaswan Pragpur.
