Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today announced a mini-secretariat building at Amb. Besides, a community health centre and an indoor stadium at Panjoa village will be constructed. During his one-day tour of the Chintpurni Assembly segment, he also announced Rs 10 crore for constructing stone-pitched embankments on both banks of the Swan river in Chintpurni segment.

Docs to access patient’s records on internet

  • The Chief Minister said Medical Information Management System in the digital mode will be introduced in 56 health institutions of the state in the first phase so that the doctors are able to access patient’s medical records from the Internet
  • It will minimise the need for the patients to carry medical records and prescription slips. He said in the next two years, robotic surgery would be introduced in the state.

Sukhu said a sum of Rs 3 crore would be provided for repair of 50 tubewells in the segment. He announced to start 10+1 and 10+2 science classes at government senior secondary schools of Saloi and Diara, adding that job-oriented courses would be introduced in Nehrian ITI. The Chief Minister also laid stones of development works estimated at Rs 33.21 crore.

Later, the Chief Minister presided over a ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ programme in Ladoli village of the constituency where 62 public grievances were heard and various types of services provided to the beneficiaries by the Revenue Department.

Speaking on the occasion, Sukhu said the state government was committed to providing quality education to the students and that a sum of Rs 300 crore was being spent by the government in this direction. He said English medium school curriculum would be introduced in all government schools from the first standard onwards in the next academic session. He informed that efforts were on to locate a suitable patch of land for constructing Rajiv Gandhi day boarding school in Chintpurni Assembly segment.

Sukhu blamed the previous BJP regime for putting the state in a financial mess. He said only 17 per cent of the state’s budget was being spent on development works, while a good percentage was spent on salaries and pensions. He said the state government was making earnest efforts to bring back the economy on the track.

The Chief Minister said Lok Adalats were organised on the last two working days of the month to reduce the pendency in revenue matters, adding that 65,000 land mutations and 4,000 land partition cases were settled during the last one year.

Chintpurni MLA Sudarshan Babloo spoke about the major demands of the constituency and thanked the CM for initiating development works. Gagret MLA Chaitanya Sharma, Kutlehar MLA Davinder Bhutto, former minister Kuldip Kumar, DC Raghav Sharma and SP Arijit Sen Thakur were also present.
