Shimla, June 23
The state witnessed a fresh spurt of 48 Covid cases today, taking the tally to 775.
The highest number of 23 cases was reported in Hamirpur as the total number of cases in the district has risen to 205. While 17 cases were reported in Kangra district (total 208), three cases each were reported in Una and Shimla and two in Chamba.
Highest 23 cases in Hamipur
As many as 23 persons tested positive for coronavirus in the district today. All of them were in home or institutional quarantine and were shifted to the Covid care centre, said Dr Archana Soni, Chief Medical Officer, Hamirpur.
She said that most of those found positive had returned from New Delhi, Gurugram and Ghaziabad.
The Delhi returnees found infected included a 36-year-old man and his 72-year-old father, a 40-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter, and a 29-year-old man and his 22-year-old son.
Two men aged 26 and 33 years, who had returned from Gurugram; a 31-year-old man, who had come from Hoshiarpur; a 57-year-old man and his 50-year-old wife, and a 41-year-old man and his 41-year-old wife, who had returned from Ghaziabad, also tested positive. A 29-year-old Bahrain returnee and a 30-year-old man, who had returned from the Ahmednagar Army Camp, were also found infected.
17 Delhi returnees infected
Seventeen persons tested Covid positive in Kangra on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases in the district to 205. All of them had returned from Delhi.
Those who were found infected included a 50-year-old woman, her 30-year-old son and a 23-year-old daughter-in-law, all residents of Usher village in Dheera; a 31-year-old man, a 23-year-old youth from Malehar village in Baijnath; a 41-year-old woman and her 24-year-old niece from Gulehar village in Jaisinghpur; a 47-year-old man from Changhar village in Palampur; a 57-year-old man from Bhawarna village; a 40-year-old man, his 35-year-old wife and two daughters; and a 19-year-old resident of Spail village in Jawali.
Two +ve in Chamba
Two coronavirus cases were reported in Chamba, taking total number of cases in the district now to 46, including 10 active cases. A 57-year-old man from Garnota village, who had returned from Ludhiana and was in home quarantine, and a 23-year-old woman from Baloo village, who had come from Delhi, were found infected.
