Una: Surprise check to inspect quality, price of food items

Una Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal made a surprise visit to the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and the State Civil Supplies Corporation godowns in Jalgran Tabba village today. He inspected the quality of grains and other food items stocked in these godowns.

The DC directed the District Food and Civil Supplies Controller to ensure that consumers of the Public Distribution System (PDS) get good quality items at prices fixed by the government. He also visited a fair price shop in the village and inquired about the present stock position from the salesman and correlated it with the stock position displayed in the point of sale machine.

The DC directed the concerned officers to take appropriate action against the salespersons of the fair price shops which were found closed in Basdehra and Dehlan panchayats. He said fair price shops should operate as per the stipulated time schedule and in case of emergency, the authorities concerned should be informed.

The DC later inspected the sub-tehsil office in Mehatpur-Basdehra and directed the Revenue Department officials to complete the pending works. He also directed them to maintain all records neatly and safely.
