A search operation in Rajban village of Mandi district entered its third day today with the recovery of a woman’s body from the accident site. The identity of the deceased woman is yet to be confirmed. Search operation continues to locate four more missing victims, including two girls, aged three months and eleven years.
“A relief amount of Rs 4 lakh each has been granted to the families of the deceased, and the affected families have received rations, medical kits, tarpaulins, and temporary housing in the village,”said Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan.
Meanwhile, the body of Yeshe Zangmo, who had lost her life in a cloudburst in the Sagnam nullah of the Pin valley in Lahaul and Spiti district, was also found. She was reportedly drowned while trying to save her children, who were picking peas along with her, when the falshfloods occurred in the nullah. The Kaza administration immediately deputed teams of the police, ITBP and local residents and Yeshe’s body was recovered from the debris late Friday night.
