Symposium on plant health management



The Department of Plant Pathology of Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, in association with Himalayan Phytopathological Society, will organise a two-day National Symposium on 'Plant Health Management Beyond 2020' on May 5-6 as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of statehood of Himachal Pradesh and 56 years of the creation of the Department of Plant Pathology. On the occasion, Dr RL Munjal Best PhD Thesis Award, Young Scientist Award, Innovative Farmer Award and Life Time Achievement awards will be conferred. Eminent scientists from more than 20 reputed institutes of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Central Universities will focus on smart agriculture technologies, which will enable this primary sector to move to the next level of farm productivity and profitability.

Webinar on IPR

Dr Prachi Vaid and Dr Prem Singh from School of Science, APG University Shimla, organised a national webinar on 'Mind to Market and Aspects of Intellectual Property in Science' here on Monday. A renowned expert in intellectual property rights, Saravdeep Sandhu, was the key resourceperson and subject expert in the webinar. Sandhu talked about how intellectual property rights and innovations could shore up the market and economy. He said it was important to strengthen the economy of the country but it was important to know the aspects of intellectual property rights and law as well.
