Baddi police today sent 16 attendees of Tablighi Jamaat congregation, who were holed up in various places in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial area for the last several days, to a quarantine centre at labour hostel at Ramshehar in Nalagarh.
Inputs regarding their presence were gathered by the police and they were found staying at places like Dhabota, Bhupnagar, Barotiwala, etc. but had no purpose of visiting this industrial belt.
The police had quarantined 43 such persons yesterday at the same quarantine centre. The action follows directions of the government to identify all such people and quarantine them as a precaution following the spread of infection from one such congregation in Delhi. All such detainees were found asymptomatic for Covid-19.
SP Baddi Rohit Malpani said inputs regarding their presence were gathered by the police and they were found staying at places like Dhabota, Bhupnagar, Barotiwala, etc. and had no purpose of visiting this industrial belt.
In Sirmaur district, as many as 35 members of the Tablighi Jamaat congregation, who were found in the district, were sent to quarantine homes as a precaution informed, SP Sirmaur, Ajay Krishan Sharma. They were also found asymptomatic in a health check-up conducted by the health staff.
These comprised nine persons who had come from Delhi, 13 from Nalagarh, eight from Chandigarh and seven from Nerwa in Shimla in February. Besides, five persons, who had returned from Delhi on March 10, were sent in isolation and also got examined for covid-19. They were, however, found negative for Covid 19.
Another list of 25 people was received by the police from Delhi on the basis of their cell phone locations which showed their movement around Nizamuddin in Delhi in the recent days but 19 of them were Hindus while the remaining too were not found Covid-19 cases and comprised army and CRPF personnel.
