Tabo in Lahaul-Spiti coldest, shivers at minus 5.5°C
Weather department officials say that weather would remain dry across till November 12

Shimla, November 6
Tabo village, located in tribal district Lahaul and Spiti froze at minus 5.5 degree Celsius, marking the coldest night in the state during the winter season. In the past 24 hours, cold wave has gripped the state, with most of the places witnessing a drop in minimum mercury.
As per the State’s Meteorological Department, minimum temperature was 2 degree Celsius to 4 degree Celsius below normal, ranging between minus 5 degree Celsius to 18 degree Celsius. However, maximum temperature across the state was normal —7 degree Celsius to 30 degree Celsius.
The department officials said weather would remain dry across till November 12. During this period, minimum temperature would rise by 2 degree Celsius to 3 degree Celsius while maximum temperature will rise by 2 degree Celsius to 4 degree Celsius.
Weather was mostly dry during the past 24 hours, with many places witnessing a bright sunny day. The state also reported light precipitation in isolated places of the higher hills of Kinnaur district while dense fog was observed in Sundernagar and shallow fog in Bilaspur.
Shimla recorded 8.4 degree Celsius, Dharamshala 10.4 degree Celsius, Manali 5.9 degree Celsius and Kalpa 0.2 degree Celsius.
With 31.2 degree Celsius maximum temperature, Una was the hottest place in the state while Tabo in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest with minus 2.2 degree Celsius.
